Please note: Due to the current restrictions/ national lockdown, THE PIG on the beach is currently closed. Face to face interviews and trial shifts will take place when it is allowed & safe to do so. By applying for this role, you are submitting your interest for a vacancy with a TBC start date.

Staff Accommodation: If required, THE PIG on the beach can provide temporary staff accommodation.  

The role of Head Sommelier is key to our success for THE PIG on the beach, our vibrant and busy hotel perfectly sat along the Dorset coastline!

As our Head Sommelier you must have a ‘can do attitude’ and be truly reflective of our brand.  You will be leading our wine team in providing the high level of service we are known for. Via a proactive and motivated approach, you will need to have strong product knowledge to pass onto the other members of your team. You must have completed a recognised study in wine and spirits and in turn we will provide you with any other qualifications that might be required to enhance your own personal learning and development.

Your knowledge of wine must drive your creative flair of developing our wine list and cellar. You will need to be reflective of our attitude and ethos in all that you do, working collaboratively with the management team to provide our guests with a truly unique experience. You will need to be flexible with working hours to include evenings/weekends and not afraid to be hands on in service.

Experience in a similar role is essential, plus recognised qualifications in wine and spirits.
