Salary: £13.71 per hour (OTE £14.81 per hour including tronc)
Hours: 35 hours per week, over 5 days.
THE PIG is seeking an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic Gardener to join our talented garden team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within one of England's most celebrated hotel gardens. THE PIG-in the Cotswolds embodies the essence of quintessential English beauty, with its gardens featuring listed archways, fruit trees, ornamental borders and the stunning Laburnum walkway.
The gardens are inspired by the legacy of Rosemary Verey OBE VMH (1918–2001), one of England's most celebrated garden designers. Best known for her iconic Barnsley House garden, which attracted tens of thousands of visitors each year, her work also influenced gardens for distinguished clients including Elton John and King Charles III.
At THE PIG, our gardens are at the heart of everything we do. Working alongside our Head Gardener and established garden team, you will help care for and develop our ornamental spaces and wider estate, ensuring they are beautifully presented throughout the seasons. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same.
You'll be involved in all aspects of garden and grounds maintenance, including planting, pruning, propagation, lawn care, hedge cutting, seasonal displays and general estate upkeep. We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors in all weathers, takes pride in their work and has a keen eye for detail.
As our gardens are an important part of the guest experience, you'll also be comfortable engaging with visitors, sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for the gardens, and supporting daily garden tours following your induction. We are also home to chickens, so some involvement in their day-to-day care will form part of the role.
